Pick-up Games

Here the informaion about regular pick-up games will be collected. Feel free to submit your information about any other regular games or alternate days.

Ann Morrison Park

By the parking lot between the fountain and the clock tower in the middle of the park (see map). Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6—7 pm. (More or less. Depends on the weather, time of dusk etc.). This is one of the most reliable ways to play an outdoor pick-up games in town. Also, on Sunday evenings in the Summer at about same time or slightly earlier there are Afghani kids and some Iraqis playing.

Discussion concerning Ann Morrison pick-up games. Comments, questions, suggestions.

Try to bring 2 shirts — light and dark, cause that is how we usually divide teams. Having obvious difference in team colours helps reduce confusion and frustration.

Update (July 2010): Games going strong, we have a lot of people coming out, so now we often split in 2 or even 3 games sometimes. Plus there is inclusive African team practice/game and some others.

Winstead Park (off of Northview, see map)

There’s word about co-ed pick-up games on Sundays during off-season.

Update (July, 2010): Not sure about the time (something like 4 PM), mostly older folk there this summer.

Brothers’ Athletic Park (Caldwell) (across YMCA, next to Caldwell HS, see map. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7-7:30 PM. I don’t know of any other days and times, on those days we practice there with my team and I see people play pick-up.

Idaho Soccer Center (1251 E. Piper Ct., Meridian, Idaho, 83642, see map)
