For kicks and giggles

First off, an introduction. I've lived in Boise for 10 years and change now, but I'm a native of Portland and one of Timbers Army. I've been to at least 12 games a year (home and road) from 2004 on (a few less games prior to that), usually driving to Portland, often with my now 10-year-old daughter.
Ug came to talktimbers.com (the message board for soccercityusa.com) to describe what happened last Friday. Obviously, I'm curious about the supposed Timbers visit to Meridian Speedway. The distressing thing Saturday night was having someone from the organization ask ME what's up.
The only thing materializing in the last week is a rumor from bigsoccer.com (therefore probably a poor one) that Morelia might make a visit to Portland on July 3. This being in Meridian instead has crossed my mind, but this would be a far better draw in Portland. Between that, a possible July 1 Open Cup match against an MLS side (which, if won, leads to a July 8 Open Cup match), a July 10 league match, and the complete lack of acknowledgement from Portland's front office... I'm wondering if this is going to happen.
Does anyone have any contacts for confirmation or denial here?

I just received an e-mail from Terry Ellis from Meridian Speedway and this is what he had to say:
Terry Ellis wrote:
We will be hosting the Portland Timbers and Morelia (1st division) July 6th. The September game teams are pending at this time. We will post the teams after the July 6th game.
I noticed that he refers to Monarcas as "(1st division)" in his e-mail. Do you suppose that this means they are not sending the reserve team but the actual Monarcas? Let me know what you think. Thanks.

I've been told that the Timber players have been notified about July 6.
Now, important stuff. When's kickoff?

What’s frustrating, is that no one returns my e-mails. I sent letters to Timbers, to Ellis, speedway owner, even to Morelia’s sporting director, all to no avail.
I cannot announce anything, unless I get some solid information.
P. S. Well, there’s some breakthrough. I got ahold of TC Ellis over the telephone just few minutes ago, he said they were just discussing it, Portland promoter was supposed to confirm some things in the next few hours. I am supposed to call again on Monday to get the official confirmation and announcement.

My GF got an e-mail back from the club... the Timbers will not be part of the game on the 6th.
I know Ug stated on soccercityusa.com that the promoter's website has gone somewhat dark, which clearly doesn't bode well.
What sucks about this is that Morelia is supposedly bringing up their first teamers to Portland for July 3 (apparently, so will Tigres July 15).
Now what?

It seems to me, that this game in particular shall not happen. I called last Monday, and I just called Speedway office today, there’s still nothing. That is, less than two weeks to the date.
I wonder if promoter flaked out, or even scammed the whole thing. I can find hardly anything on him (her) on the Net. The only thing I could try, and I shall, is to poke Portland Hispanic Professionals group on meetup.com in which he (she) seems to be a member, although inactive.

Get a load of this...

So there's a game on July 6 between the Timbers and Morelia... in S**ttle. Not Meridian.
That's pretty telling.
I'm sorry. I would have had a few people there... including every friend of my daughter who wonder what the **** she's talking about when she mentions being a Timbers fan.
